ArtReach Gallery Presents
ARTREACH GALLERY
Separations: Drawings by James G. Todd, Jr.
There are two parts to the exhibition in ArtReach Gallery, both of which relate to the them of immigration.
I: The Irish Potato Famine: It began in the early 1840s and affected Ireland’s way of living for the next 60 years. It thrust many Irish into migration to the USA.
II: Separation Policy at the Southern Border: The policy began under the Trump administration and encouraged prejudicial build up of a portion of the American population.
The accompanying book contains all the images from both parts of the exhibition PLUS poems that relate to the same issues. One of the poets, Martín Espada, recently won the National Book Award for Poetry. Artist JAMES TODD, has written two essays giving his motivation for creating the art.
